New year, new decade. By now, anyone reading this has hopefully recovered from New Year’s Eve and any “celebrating” they may have done.
The New Year traditionally is when people’s hopes, aspirations, goals, dreams, and optimism manifest themselves in their New Year’s Resolutions. Gym attendance is up as everyone, full of motivation and good intentions, piles in to get a treadmill, elliptical, or see how much they can bench.
Are you one of those people? One of those folks that’s 10-15 pounds heavier now than they were before Thanksgiving?
Are you one of those people that loves to chow down on pizza and down a beer or 6 when watching football on the weekend cuz damnit… that’s just what you do?
Are you one of the many that had a few extra cookies and glasses of eggnog because you knew that New Year’s was coming and that’s when you were really gonna buckle down and get in shape?
Well…it’s 3 days into the New Year. How’re your workouts going? How’s your nutrition? Do you have a plan? If you do, have you been following it?
On January 15, my calendar opens up again and I’m making myself available to help those smart enough to recognize they need it.
Just understand one thing…no matter what plan you use, whether it’s one you’ve made yourself, found online, in a magazine or one that I make for you, it’s worthless if you don’t stick to it and execute it correctly. In fact, I’ll kick you out of my stable and revoke your “Golden Ones” status if I find out you’re not sticking with your routine…if I accept you as a client first, that is.
You gotta actually commit and do the work…and be patient. This getting in shape stuff takes time. That’s never what anyone wants to hear, but it’s the truth.
Be willing to make sacrifices…that means sacrificing those delicious goodies you’ve been stuffing your face with since mid-November.
Time to cut down on or eliminate the sugar entirely.
Stop eating processed foods.
Eliminate those excess calories you drink every day in the form of coffee Coolatas, milkshakes, and sodas. Drink more water…and if you just need to have coffee, suck it up and drink it black.
Move more. That means getting up outta your seat more often, sticking to your workouts, walking more, and sitting around and watching TV less…this includes football on Sundays. I know, I’m a dick for saying it. But it’s true. And nobody likes the truth.
Nobody wants to hear that in a few weeks, they’re probably gonna fall into old habits, get discouraged when the weight isn’t falling off like they hoped, and they’re just gonna quit.
Planet Fitness or whatever gym you belong to will continue to get rich off of your monthly dues because you, like so many others, will not cancel your membership because “I’ll go back soon”.
You’ll be back in a few days. You’re just a little too tired. A little too sore. You worked out a little too hard. You’re a little older than you were last year.
Besides, the Superbowl is coming up in a few weeks and you’ll have to have pizza and beer and chips and cupcakes and goodies because it’s the Superbowl!
This sound like you? This what you think, how you think? If it is…please do NOT contact me because we cannot work together. I’m not in the business of wasting my time on people who are just like everyone else. I demand excellence of myself and if we work together, I demand it from you as well.
I know what I say and do works. If you’re looking for a fad workout or gimmicks…go somewhere else. I have no time for you. Nothing personal. That’s just the way it is.
If you’re serious about getting and staying in the best shape of your life, schedule a consult with me here. There is a non-refundable $125 consultation fee, so only schedule if you are ready to make a commitment, take action, and be rejected. If I feel like you’d be too much of a hassle to work with, too much of a headache, too much of a whiner, complainer, or excuse-maker, I will NOT allow you into my stable of “Golden Ones” clients. I’m looking to help those that want to help themselves, those that are serious about changing their lives for the better. If that’s you, let’s talk.
Always Activate. Get Going.
