A2G2 – It Takes Time

Like anything else, when you start a new venture, hobby, activity, or anything else new…you’re excited.  You get excited at the possibilities, excited at the potential results, excited to tell the world about it.

Starting your fitness journey is no different.  But what happens when the novelty wears off?  What happens when the results start to slow or seemingly stop altogether?  Do you need to change everything?  Do you get frustrated and just quit? NO!

The most important thing to remember is that you must remain consistent.  Skipping workouts or “cheating a little” on your diet is not the way to go.  The key to success, like anything else in life, is getting a routine…sticking to it…and trusting and falling in love with the process of doing that routine.

Unfortunately, most people give up too fast.  They don’t see results fast enough.  They throw in the towel before they’ve given any program the proper amount of time and dedication to work.

This is why there are so many fad diets and supplements out there.  People are always looking for the “next great thing” or a new “magic pill” to get them in shape and healthy fast.

The reality is…there is no “magic pill” or “miracle diet” and the latest crazy, insane workout craze isn’t the answer, either.  What you can do, is be consistent, find a plan that fits with your goals and lifestyle, fully commit and stick to and work for it.

Know that it will take time.  Know that it will get monotonous.  Know that there will be temptations everywhere and peer pressure to stray from the path.

Know that you must fight through that.

Know that you must stay the course.

Commit.

Be patient, but be hungry to get after it.

Every.  Single.  Day.

The results will come.  You will see and feel the change.  And the longer you commit and stick with it, the easier it will become.  The easier it will be to ignore the temptation to stray.  The more attractive the path to your personal greatness becomes.  We are all capable of becoming our best selves.  You are.  All you have to do…is take that first step.

If you are ready to take that first step on the road of your physical fitness journey and get into the best shape of your life, or if you’re already rolling and want to jump into an intense 8- week transformation, check out my No Excuses No Exceptions: 8 Weeks to a New You program here
