Sundays

For many people, Sundays have traditionally been days off.

Sunday is the day you relax, take a load off, go to your place of worship if you’re religious, watch the football game, go to family gatherings, etc.

Sure. You can do those things. But you still have to exercise. You still have to be mindful of your health and fitness.

I’m of the belief that when it comes to your health and fitness, especially when you’re trying to get yourself in better shape or health, you don’t take days off.

I do believe that intensity should be dialed back some on certain days, yes, but I don’t believe you should stop completely and do nothing and over-indulge on junk food and drink to excess.

For one thing, you’re stopping your momentum. Any amount that you’ve created just stops and you’ve got to start it up all over again.

I feel you’re better off ALWAYS doing something related to your health and fitness just to keep that momentum going.

The easiest way to keep your momentum going, but to also dial it back and take it easy, is to take a walk every day. I’ve written about walks before and how beneficial they are to your health and wellness, but also because they continue your momentum and keep you from stopping.

If you’re doing a walk every day, doesn’t matter if it’s ten minutes around the block or an hour in the park, you’re active. You’re moving. Your mind and body are becoming conditioned to and accustomed to exercise.

This is so important when you’re starting out. Your exercise has to become a daily part of your routine, something that you cannot do without. When you achieve this, your exercise and nutrition habits become second-nature.

Any sense of apprehension or dread you have about doing your exercise or sticking to your eating plan vanishes. Eventually, following your exercise and eating plan comes with little to no effort.

This takes time to achieve, of course. It’s constant repetition and time that will get you there, but you can get there.

Just keep your momentum going. Seven days a week. Sundays especially.

Until tomorrow…

Always Activate. Get Going.
