A2G2 – Getting Started

For most, New Year’s is the time that resolutions are made and new goals are set.  A lot of people set New Year’s resolutions around their health and fitness. 

Nearly everyone who waits until then to begin has the greatest of intentions, unfortunately, very few actually see these goals through.  Even fewer actually stick to a new diet or exercise plan for more than a few weeks.  Don’t believe me?  Drive by a gym on January 2nd then again a few weeks later.  Compare the number of cars in the parking lot…I guarantee there will be significantly less.

Why wait until New Year’s to get started? 

If you’re truly serious about getting in shape, for whatever your reason, you’ll start NOW. 

No need to wait.  But why do you?  Why do so many others?  If you’re truly serious about getting in shape, eating better, dropping a few unwanted pounds or gaining a few pounds of muscle…start NOW.

Most folks like to wait until the New Year to get started but you don’t have to.

Physical fitness takes time…there are no shortcuts, no machines, gadgets, pills, drinks or powders that will turn you into a Greek God or Goddess overnight. 

So stop procrastinating and start NOW. 

Start turning your life around NOW…not tomorrow, not next week, not next month, not next year.

NOW.

Getting started doesn’t have to be complicated and you shouldn’t be intimidated by it. 

You don’t have to dive headfirst into a competitive bodybuilder’s routine or fast for a week or buy a ton of supplements to get started on your journey. 

All you have to do is start NOW. 

Just start. 

Stop reading this article and go outside to take a walk around the block.  Raining or late at night?  Drop down and do 10 push-ups.  See how you feel.  Start liking that feeling.  Start enjoying that feeling.  Make it routine.  Make it daily.  Make it a habit.  Make it a lifestyle. 

Just get started.  Get the momentum going.  And slowly do some more every day.  Little by little, adding more time, more reps, more sets, more weight, more resistance. 

Imagine how you can look, and most importantly how you’ll feel 6 weeks from now.  6 months from now. Imagine a year from now. 

Your age doesn’t matter. 

Your current physical shape doesn’t matter. 

All that matters is that you want to improve and you want to get better and you want to get started. 

So get started. 

Enough excuses.  Enough reasons why you can’t.  Enough caring about what other people think.

You can.  You have to know that you can.  And you have to just get started…and get started NOW.
