What is A2G2? A2=Always Activate. G2=Get Going.
It’s what I tell myself anytime I feel like not training. It’s what I say anytime I begin having that internal battle with myself on whether or not I should go outside for a walk even though the weather isn’t ideal.
Always Activate your body. If you’re sitting down a lot, stand up more. If you find yourself sitting around a lot, get up, go outside and take a walk. Always Activate and Get Going.
If you’re in the gym and find yourself sitting around texting in-between sets, put your phone down and do some jumping jacks or bang out 25 push-ups or bodyweight squats. Always Activate. Get Going. A2G2. Remember it, do it.
If you’re binge-watching your favorite show on Netflix or Hulu, in-between episodes, get up and do 50 jumping jacks…or better yet, turn the TV off altogether and do a 20 to 30-minute calisthenics workout.
Remember, you don’t have to be in the gym to exercise. There is a timeless cliche that applies here: Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Figure out what works for you, figure out how you can find ways to be more active throughout your day.
A2G2 doesn’t just apply to physical exercise and movement, but mental as well. If you’ve been meaning to pick up that book on self-development you bought 2 New Years Resolutions ago but the couch and TV are calling your name, remember A2G2. Grab that book and read 10 pages at a time. You’ll be done before you know it, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be hungry for more knowledge.
If you want to be more active, then be more active. There are countless ways to move more, think more, and be constantly improving yourself. If you’re always thinking A2G2, you will probably discover more ways to Always Activate and Get Going on your own.
